If you ever find yourself on Anglesey then you must make time to visit Stone Science which is located in the middle of the island. It is a wonderful place. On the ground floor is an exhibition of the history of the earth, dinosaurs, rocks, animals, with some fascinating artefacts and displays. There is also an amazing shop which has hundreds of rocks, fossils and archaeological items to buy - you will be spoilt for choice - we were! But upstairs is wonderful too - it is like stepping back in time into a Victorian naturalist’s lab - there are cases of beautiful rocks, others lying around waiting to be catalogued and this unexpected display of beadwork from Africa and the Americas. The geologist who owns this science museum was quite happy for the beadwork to be photographed and I hope I might tempt you to go and see this place for yourself. In the grounds there is also the re-creation of an iron-age home (and lots of chickens) - so plenty to look at. We went back THREE times whilst there on holiday last year !
