The Crafting Weekend at the Marks Tey Hotel, near Colchester, was a great success!

There were 71 ladies (no men, I’m afraid!) who were eager to learn new cardmaking skills and they had a wonderful time whilst doing so.

The ladies were split into five groups, with each attending five classes spread over the weekend. These were Quick & Easy Cards, Twisted Decoupage, Parchment Craft, Stamping and my class called “Shining Star” - a rather enigmatic title which referred to the card front. However, this concealed a spectacular pop-up snowman scene. It was lovely to hear the “WOW” sounds that it evoked each time I opened the sample! Everyone managed to recreate the card - although there were quite a few snowmen still to be attached after the two hour period was over.
(I do know that some people were cutting out snowmen in their hotel rooms on Saturday night)!

As well as all the crafting we had first class hotel accommodation and some beautiful meals ............. with lots of “across the dinner table” conversation! I’m pleased to say that a second weekend is planned for
March 2006, so if you are interested in coming along to this one, please visit www.Craftyconnexions.co.uk to find out more.

“Hello” to all the ladies that I had the pleasure of meeting and I hope to see you next time - who knows what we shall be creating in March!
